On my own at Goat Feathers!

I decided to pull out and do my own booth at Goat Feathers.  My Mom and I chalk painted an old 1980's hutch I bought on Craigslist Monday.  We painted on Thursday night and she did the second coat on Friday morning...then we waxed it Friday night!  A 24 hour turn around...here is a shot of the whole thing.... You can see I have a couple of baby quilts handing on the sides...and other stuff I've made. 

An up close shot of the stuff inside.... patterns, mug rugs and mugs!  I does have a light in the top but Goat Feathers is still working on the electricity so there isn't an outlet yet for a timer.  Hopefully it will be installed later this week!

 

Some other things I've made.... table runners, table toppers, etc.  I have plans to make cute little pincushions and thread catchers as well....

 

 

 

Here is an exterior shot of Goat Feathers...located in Boulder City, NV, right past the Hoover Dam but prior to hitting Las Vegas.

 

 

 

It is a consignment shop full of antiques and collectibles, crafts, and, of course, some wayward crazy junk... When it is full, it can take an hour to walk through.  It closed at Christmas and changed owners so new vendors that wanted to move it and getting an opportunity.  Prior to that, you'd need someone to die and leave you their spot!  I need to get working on some cutie pie stuff...now I'll have things to post about!

Denise's quilt....

Denise made this quilt when we were in Arizona last month....I quilted Flight of Fancy on it...butterflies, curls, and more butterflies!  She used the Hubba Hubba fabric from Me and My Sister Designs..

I'm still perking away on mug rugs.  Shooting for 8 each week for Goatfeathers.  But if they don't sell, I'll stop making them...maybe!  Happy Quilting!

Queen of Mug Rugs....

I was supposed to do an outdoor craft show in December...but it started to snow here in Las Vegas.  It was absolutely the worst day of the winter....crap.  But I had been making mug rugs and I don't think I ever showed them on my blog.  These are now for sale at Goatfeathers...

Piece the tops (do a bunch in an hour)

Quilt each one....5 mins?  

Single fold binding by hand...17 mins each!

I like small projects, I guess....

Granny square baby quilt...

I made over 70 granny square blocks for a king sized quilt...but I really needed about 120.  So I gave up and made a baby quilt!  Good news...I can make 10 more just like it!  ;-)

I really love the quilt and it is up for sale at Goatfeathers!  Here is a "sort of" after shot of our booth after we set it up....quilts, quilt ladders, oversized ironing boards, patterns, table toppers...

Mug rugs, quilt hangers, kits, misc fabric, etc....lots of quilty stuff!  I'm in it with 5 other women....I'll let you know how it goes...

Anyhow, that is what I worked on this week....I'm making some more mug rugs and still working on a new pattern.  Hopefully I'll have some pics later this week!  Happy quilting!
